Surrender or Fight

By Newt Gingrich

Republicans, in particular the Trump administration, are approaching a historic decision that will shape America for generations to come. The endless hostility of the Left, exemplified by violent fascists on college campuses, thugs in the streets, determined disrupters at town hall meetings, and the dishonest elite media are all part of their efforts to defeat the reforms and changes that President Trump was elected to implement.   The constant, anonymous leaks from disgruntled federal bureaucrats aim to provide ammunition for the propaganda news media to press the attack.

The Left’s dance of destruction is stunningly choreographed.

I have been overseas for the last three days, and it has been sickening to see so many foreigners terrified because they unknowingly believe the news media’s false reports and vicious attacks. The only version of President Trump they know is the one portrayed in the 24-hour cesspool of CNN and the daily acrimony of the New York Times. Sadly, our own nation’s news media is doing more to undermine America's image than Al Jazeera or Pravda combined..........There is no middle ground...........To Read More.....

My Take - Normally I don't usually post articles by Gengrich because I don't trust him and I don't like him.  I first became aware of him decades ago when he appeared on some of Fred Friendly's Ethics in America Series, and I thought he was brilliant, and he is.  However, his conduct with his wives and his ability to change horses while jumping over fences was disturbing.  In my opinion his true colors came out when he sat next to Nancy Pelosi proclaiming to the world we must act now to stop global warming.

However - this is an article that's clearly a matter of common sense.

He claims the Republicans need to make up their minds as to who they are and have the courage to be who they are, and then fight for what they claim to believe in - which is a massive problem for the Republicans - unlike the Democrats they don't know what they believe in other than they really, really would like to be re-elected - a lot!

Talk about betraying the voters and their "friends" in their own party.

People like Rep. Chaffetz - who Larry Klayman calls a political whore - and John McCain are contemptible and rampant among Republicans.  All of whom claim to be 'conservatives' when running for office, but like Governor John Kasich - a man with a serious case of weird compounded by a massive infection of hubris - they feel they have the right to define conservatism as they see fit once elected.  And this group usually define conservatism to be as far left as they can go.

His solution is to attack via the ballot box, and while that's how people get elected, and clearly that must be part of the solution  - that's not the whole solution.  Why?   Because the media along with the rest of the left are still framing the discussion, picking the battles and choosing the battle fields.

That can only be changed by attacking them where they're vulnerable - the crimes they've committed.  The real solution is to attack them via the legal system.  These people committed crimes while in charge - serious crimes.  Investigate them, charge them, prosecute them and send them to jail.  And they need to start with the underlings.  Once they realize jail is in their future - they'll squeal like pigs on their bosses, and it seems clear to me that might include Obama himself.   That will frame all arguments from that time on.

Then and only then will the ballot box solution work because the left will be defanged no matter how much they howl like banshees, but they need to start right now!
