Borlaug the Great!

Micheline Pelletier/Sygma/Corbis
Norman Borlaug won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his contributions to improved farming and increased food production acrossthe world. With today's posts about GMOs I thought it appropriate to feature him. The title "Borlaug the Great" is attributed to someone other than me, but I can't remember who it was. However the originator noted the world has dubbed a number of people throughout history with the accolade "The Great", but they've all been people like Alexander the Great. People who were responsible for killing a great many people in their quest for power. He thought it’s about time someone who may have saved a billion people from starving to death was more deserving. I agree!
