Zone of Reality: Castro Notes

By Rich Kozlovich

In a past posting I outlined how so many "journalists", like Ernest Hemingway were in reality leftist operatives. This hasn't changed, and it has been going on for decades. Walter Duranty even received a Pulitzer Prize for writing articles that claimed that Stalin wasn't killing anyone; and everyone in journalism working in Russia knew his work was nothing but lies. A Pulitzer Prize that the New York Times refuses to return; a Pulitzer Prize the Pulitzer Prize committee refuses to revoke, in spite of the fact that it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Duranty was a fraud.

In 1996 Castro came to New York City and was called the “The Toast of Manhattan” by Time magazine and the “The Hottest Ticket in Manhattan” by Newsweek. You can see why they are failing. The leftist media like Mort Zuckerman, Mike Wallace, Peter Jennings, Tina Brown, Bernard Shaw, Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer slobbered all over him. They, along with an audience of important people, including Charlie Rangel and Maxine Walters chanted; ‘FIDEL!-FIDEL! VIVA-FIDEL!’

This monster who they were slobbering over had planned detonating a dozen incendiary devices and 500 kilos of TNT in 1962 in the U.S. When? On the largest shopping day of the year; the day after Thanksgiving. Where? In New York City at Macy’s, Gimbel’s, Bloomingdales, and Manhattan’s Grand Central Station, which was filled with children and their mothers to be “incinerated and entombed.”

Are we to believe this isn’t known to these people? Gerard Jackson wrote this in his article Is Journalism and Treason Now Joined at the Hip?;
"Treason is an ugly word and an even uglier crime. In simple language treason is the act of betraying one’s country to those who would destroy it and enslave its people. This definition is so simple that leftwing sophisticated journalists sneer at it. To them treason is merely relative with one country’s traitor being another country’s hero. This is the appalling moral and intellectual state of current Western journalism. The moral rot runs so deep that one despairs of living long enough to see any improvement."

'We Will Get Fooled Again (by Castro),' Chants the MSM

By Humberto Fontova

You'd really, really think half a century of Castro pronouncements might make the MSM a tad skeptical about them. Take this one from 1959. For months by the time of his above denouncement of Communism, Fidel, Raul, and Che had been repairing to their respective (stolen) Havana mansions nightly and conferring with Soviet GRU agents to button down the Stalinization of Cuba. Raul Castro had been supervised by a KGB handler since 1953, and when arrested in Mexico in 1956, Ernesto "Che" Guevara was found to have, in his very wallet, the calling card of the KGB's top Latin American agent, Nikolai Leonov. Now take the MSM (the same people who erupt in cynical snorts rather than allow any Republican to finish a sentence)'s reaction to that Castro pronouncement:

"This is not a Communist Revolution in any sense of the term. Fidel Castro is not only not a Communist, he is decidedly anti-Communist." - Herbert Matthews, New York Times, July 1959

"It would be a great mistake even to intimate that Castro's Cuba has any real prospect of becoming a Soviet satellite." - Walter Lippmann, Washington Post July, 1959

"Castro is honest, and an honest government is something unique in Cuba. Castro is not himself even remotely a Communist." - Newsweek, April 1959

"We can thank our lucky stars Castro is no Communist." - Look Magazine, March 1959
